OEE Quick Diagnostic & 7‑Day Experiment Plan

A guided, operator-centred sprint plan that collects baseline OEE, validates top losses with operators, templates 1–2 short experiments, captures daily observations, and records before/after KPIs — all saved for review and scaling decisions.

OEE Quick Diagnostic & 7‑Day Experiment Plan

Goal: Quickly find the top causes of lost availability, speed and quality, test operator-owned countermeasures, and prove measurable gains within seven days. Use this form to capture baseline numbers, validate losses with operators, design short experiments, log daily observations, and record results.

This Playbook favors fast, visible experiments owned by the team over long analysis cycles. Fill the baseline and top-loss fields on Day 0, run interviews on Day 1, plan experiments Days 2–3, implement Days 4–6, and measure Day 7.

Identify where the sprint will run (e.g., Plant A — Line 2).
YYYY-MM-DD
Person coordinating the 7‑day experiment.
Percent of scheduled time available (e.g., 92).
Percent of ideal cycle speed achieved (e.g., 87).
Percent of good units / produced units (e.g., 98).
Measured OEE or calculated estimate. (Availability × Performance × Quality).
Short label (e.g., Changeover, Breakdown, Minor stoppage, Speed loss, Scrap).
Best available estimate from logs/operator input.
Key observations and confirmations from operator conversations validating the top losses. Record quotes or concrete examples.
If we [change X], then [measurable result Y] will occur because...
List concise actions operators will take; keep it simple and reversible for a short test.
Be specific: e.g., reduce setup time by 8 minutes, reduce minor stops by 30%
YYYY-MM-DD
YYYY-MM-DD
Record what happened, key numbers (availability / speed / rejects), who was present, and immediate barriers.
Measured after the sprint.
Enter measured OEE after the sprint.
Compare measured outcomes to the experiment success criteria. Be concrete: what improved, by how much, what didn't change.
Decide: Scale, iterate, or try a different experiment. Note ownership and timing for next actions.
