Use this checklist to prepare a clear, reproducible preregistration and a robust preprint. Answer each item honestly and add links or brief notes where helpful. Saving this form records a structured snapshot you can attach to manuscripts, registries, or team handoffs.

Person responsible for submissions and updates.
Choose where you will preregister the project or store the protocol.
Paste link to the preregistration entry or protocol.
Have you written clear primary hypotheses or research questions?
List precise primary outcomes, units, measurement methods.
Optional but recommended for transparency.
Include power analysis, effect size assumptions, or justification for chosen sample size.
Statistical models, variables, covariates, transformations, and software where relevant.
Link to a protocol, analysis script, or repository.
Imputation, exclusion, sensitivity analyses, or planned robustness checks.
Planned interim looks, stopping boundaries, and exclusion criteria for participants, samples, or records.
How you will document and justify changes after preregistration.
Provide protocol/IRB number or brief details.
IRB number, approving body, or link to approval document.
Where and when data will be deposited, access conditions, and licensing.
Include repository name (e.g., Dryad, Zenodo), embargo length, and DOI if available.
Select an appropriate license for data reuse.
Repository and licensing for code (e.g., GitHub + Zenodo DOI).
Are lab protocols, questionnaires, simulation code available for others?
