Use this checklist to track and document the essential steps for translating a discovery into a product, partnership, or policy. Each item includes acceptance guidance and a place to record evidence, owners, priorities, and next steps. Save responses to build organizational memory and handoffs.

Has reproducibility been demonstrated and critical-to-quality attributes (CTQs) identified and documented? Acceptance: repeatable data, SOPs, and identified CTQs.
Provide file names, repository links, dataset IDs, or brief summary of key results.
Has the invention been disclosed internally (TTO), and has an intake form been completed?
Status of prior art and freedom-to-operate assessment.
Select the current protection approach or status.
Early mapping of likely regulatory path and key required studies (e.g., device vs drug vs software, regional differences).
List GLP, clinical, performance, safety, or other studies anticipated.
Choose the current TRL to clarify development stage.
Status of scale-up feasibility and manufacturing planning.
Rate overall scale-up risk from 1 (low) to 5 (high).

Estimate months until the next concrete milestone (e.g., file provisional, complete pilot).
Set short-term priority for translation work.
Record blockers, funding gaps, ethical/regulatory concerns, or dependencies.
