Quick start

Preprint & reproducibility checklist (use before posting)

  • Clear title and structured abstract with key results and limitations.
  • Methods sufficiently detailed to repeat key analyses; if long, provide extended methods supplement.
  • Data availability: repository name, persistent identifier/DOI, access conditions, and basic README.
  • Code availability: repository URL, version or commit hash, license, and brief run instructions (minimum example to reproduce a key result).
  • Computational environment: language versions, dependency list or environment export (e.g., requirements.txt, environment.yml, Dockerfile).
  • Ethics and approvals (if applicable) and participant privacy notes for shared data.
  • Authorship contributions and funding statements.

  • Use a hierarchical layout: title + one-sentence takeaway, short intro, methods snapshot, three key results (visual-first), implications / next steps.

  2. Key evidence: two to three bullet points with concise data points and implications.
  3. Recommendations: practical, prioritized actions with estimated impact and uncertainty.
  4. Contact & follow-up: what additional information or analysis is available and how to request it (link to repository or contact email).

Practical reproducible-reporting checklist

Minimum artifacts to provide alongside any dissemination:

  • Project README with short reproduction steps and expected outputs.
  • Data files or data-access instructions and license.
  • Code repository with a pinned commit or release, a short example script that reproduces one key figure or table, and an environment spec.
  • Persistent identifiers for datasets and code (DOIs or repository release links).

  • Clear license and data-use restrictions.
