Quick Starter Plan — Practical actions for 30 / 90 / 180 days

Use this checklist to build momentum. The aim is measurable wins, not perfection.

Days 1–30: Fast wins and setup

  • Run the Baseline Readiness Assessment and pick 1–2 pilots using the Prioritization Guide.
  • Identify a named pilot owner and a 1–page Pilot Design Worksheet for each pilot.
  • Fix simple operational waste sources (turn off unused lighting, check overnight HVAC schedules, install recycling bins in high-waste areas).
  • Set up basic measurement for pilots (invoice review, a weekly manual log, or simple meter snapshots).
  • Schedule a weekly 30–45 minute pilot check-in: data review, issues, next actions.

Days 30–90: Run experiments and capture learning

  • Collect baseline data for at least two full measurement cycles (daily/weekly depending on metric).
  • Run pilots per the worksheet. Capture quantitative results and frontline feedback.
  • Hold a formal review using the Huddle & Measurement Guide decision gate: scale, adapt, or stop.
  • If a pilot succeeds, create a simple scale plan: owners, costs, required SOP changes, and timeline.

Days 90–180: Scale and embed

  • Roll out successful pilots to additional sites or departments using the scale plan.
  • Document the operational procedure and update training materials or checklists.
  • Make the improvement part of regular ops (duties, procurement specs, maintenance schedules).
  • Report results to stakeholders and celebrate the team's learning and savings.

Tip: Start small and measure everything. Small measured wins build credibility for larger investments.
