Design rules (keep these visible while authoring)
- Make each instruction single-purpose: one task, one outcome.
- Keep it brief: 6–12 steps is ideal for a single DWI; each step should be 1–2 short sentences or a photo with a short caption.
- Use visuals first. Photos, annotated screenshots, or short clips reduce interpretation error.
- Highlight critical checks and safety notes so they can’t be missed.

Authoring tips & common pitfalls
- Use present-tense verbs and direct commands ("Place", "Tighten", "Inspect").
- Avoid jargon only insiders know — add glossary links for essential terms.
- Don’t substitute documentation for hands-on coaching. Use DWIs to standardize critical steps and reserve practice for competence.
- Keep sensitive procedures gated but not hidden: limit distribution where safety or IP requires it, but maintain a process so required people can access and validate them.
