This interactive checklist helps you choose pragmatic metering locations, set a useful data resolution and baseline, run a short walkdown to capture high-impact quick wins, and record simple estimates so you can prioritize, assign owners, and follow up. Aim to capture representative baseline data (two weeks minimum; 30 days when operations vary). Use the Quick-Win section to record up to five top opportunities and estimate annual kWh and cost savings to calculate simple payback.

Select the physical points to meter or verify. Start with main feed plus any high-energy processes or headers.
Higher resolution (seconds) helps detect short transient events; 1–15 minute resolution is often enough for operational insights with fewer storage needs.
Choose a baseline that represents normal operations. Longer baselines reduce the effect of atypical days.
A baseline means you have captured metered data for the chosen period or have a documented historical usage level.
Mark the items you will inspect. Use the Quick-Win Details section below to capture estimates and owners.
Briefly describe other quick-win observations.
For each top opportunity, record a short description, estimated kW reduction or behavior change, hours per day impacted, estimated annual kWh saved, estimated annual cost saving, estimated implementation cost, priority (1 low–5 high), owner, and a target completion date. These estimates let you compute simple payback and prioritize follow-up.
e.g., 'Turn off idle press during lunch and shift change'.
Enter the kW reduction when the measure is implemented. Leave blank if unknown.
Average hours per day the reduction would apply.
If you can, compute: kW × hours per day × operating days per year. Otherwise leave blank and estimate.
Use your facility rate (cost per kWh) to estimate annual $ savings.
Select a priority to help sequence follow-up.
Enter a date or target week. The platform can later be extended to schedule reminders.
Use your utility rate including demand components if desired. This helps convert kWh savings to $ savings.
Record how you will verify savings (meter locations, sample rate, verification period), and any assumptions used in estimates.
List next steps, who will do them, and a target timeframe.
