Kaizen Portal Launch Blueprint & Governance Rules
A practical, operational blueprint and governance guide for launching a lightweight Kaizen idea-capture portal with prioritization, two-week experiments, owner responsibilities, feedback loops, recognition, and a built-in submission form to capture and store ideas for triage and tracking.
Kaizen Idea Submission & Launch Toolkit
Kaizen Portal: Submit, Prioritize, Experiment
Use this form to capture frontline improvement ideas. Read the governance summary below before submitting.
How submissions are handled
- Weekly micro-triage: supervisors scan new submissions for immediate safety or production risks and escalate urgent items.
- Monthly governance review: a small panel evaluates top candidates for experiments based on safety, quality, impact, feasibility, and alignment.
- Prioritization: combined Ease and Impact scores guide selection for owner-backed experiments, normally timeboxed to two weeks.
- Ownership & experiments: approved ideas are assigned an owner who runs a rapid experiment, collects simple before/after evidence, and reports results.
- Feedback & recognition: originators receive status updates and public recognition for tested and adopted ideas.
Governance at a glance
Review cadence: weekly micro-triage and a monthly governance meeting for top ideas. Experiment timebox: typically two weeks; pilot length may extend when justified. Metrics: capture experiment outcome (success/learn/fail) and simple measures (time saved, defects reduced, cost saved, safety risk reduced).
Owner responsibilities
- Design and run the experiment within the agreed timebox.
- Collect simple before/after evidence (time, defect counts, cost, safety notes).
- Report outcomes and recommended next steps within three working days of experiment completion.
Recognition: visible callouts in team huddles and a small monthly reward for adopted ideas. Now enter your idea below. Fields marked with * are recommended.
