Energy Monitoring Quick Audit

This quick audit is designed to help operations teams find low-cost, verifiable energy savings during a short floor walk. Record what is metered, note baseline patterns, document the top abnormal energy draws, capture low-effort opportunities with owners and estimates, and define a simple measurement plan so improvements are tracked and sustained.

Who completed this quick audit.
YYYY-MM-DD or today. Use local date for the facility.
Where are you auditing? (plant, building, line, cell)
Which shift was observed?
Quick snapshot of what is currently measured.
Optional detail when you selected Other.
Enter panel names, meter IDs, or asset tags (one per line).
Short description of normal operating cycles, start/stop times, peak periods, and known schedule exceptions.
Provide a best estimate for the area or line if known. Leave blank if unknown.
Estimate if possible.
Describe observed abnormal draw and simple likely cause (e.g., compressed air leak, idling oven, cooling left on).
Optional second abnormal draw.
Optional third abnormal draw.
Behavior change, setpoint, scheduling, motor control, lighting, compressed air fix, etc.
Who will take the action or be accountable?
Quick estimate of implementation effort.
Per day or per shift—note which in the text. This is a quick estimate, not a guarantee.
Estimated value per day or shift. Use local energy rate if known.
How will you prove savings? e.g., spot kW readings before/after, run meter for X days, time-of-use log. Specify required meters, duration, and acceptance criteria.
Rank opportunity importance and likely speed to realize saving.
1.0 10.0
1.0 10.0
1.0 10.0
Did you implement any quick fixes during this walk? (e.g., turned off lights, closed valves)
Note who did it and any quick estimate of impact.
E.g., panel-level for one week, submeter motor X, temporary clamp meter log for 48 hours.
Be specific: who will do what by when.
YYYY-MM-DD. Plan a check to confirm measurement plan and progress.
Because file upload may not be supported here, note file names and storage location (shared drive, ticket, photo file name).
